Jill joined Arup in 2018 and specialises in sustainable design, particularly on low carbon and wellness strategies. She has played a pivotal role in helping major developers, such as Nan Fung Group and Hysan Development, manage their corporate carbon portfolios and transform operational practices towards decarbonisation.

Her passion lies in combining sustainability and technology to deliver innovative, impactful solutions that address global challenges. She was a core team member in developing Neuron, an award-winning digital platform that uses 5G and IoT to optimise building performance and enable smart building management. In 2022, her invention of a patented blockchain-based carbon footprint management, reporting, and verification (MRV) tool earned her the Best Woman Inventor at the International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada (iCAN).

Jill has worked on a variety of high-profile projects such as Two Taikoo Place and ELEMENTS, providing sustainability consultancy and green building certifications while leading carbon audits, energy management, and retro-commissioning efforts. Her contributions have helped shape the future of sustainable design and digitalisation in the built environment.

Inspired by the IET YWE Awards launched in 1978, the Hong Kong version was established in 2019 to recognise the local young woman engineers who have made significant contributions to the continuous development of Hong Kong or Macau through their engineering efforts.

I am truly honoured to receive this award. This is a significant recognition in my career and motivates me to continue inspiring others, especially young women, to pursue their passions in STEM and help shape the future of engineering.
